The Buff And The Beautiful

Taboo: Female Bodybuilders Documentary

Here’s a fascinating documentary from the National Geographic television series ‘Taboo’ that focuses on muscle girls. They bill the series this way: ‘Taboo takes you on a journey beyond the comfort zones and across cultural borders to explore rituals and customs that are acceptable in some cultures, but forbidden, illegal or, reviled in others. Understand seemingly bizarre and shocking practices from around the world.’ So expect a small degree of sensationalism as the story unfolds, but its well done and goes on for 15 minutes. They examine the lifestyle and culture of female bodybuilders, and the various taboos associated with their sport. This video addresses steriods, health problems, and other negative things that are all part of the bodybuilding world.

This documentary was alot better than E’s THS:Female Bodybuilders which aired last month.
Almost as good as TLC’s reality docu-drama SUPERSIZE SHE

What an incredibly negative and biased documentary! While it’s true that top bodybuilders of both genders, as well as top athletes in ALL sports, use steroids and HGH, female bodybuilders are unbelieveably sexy! I don’t want to feel a woman’s calves or arms and have them feel like skinny pillows. What is sexy to one may not always be the same for others. I would much prefer a female bodybuilder to a top actresss or model ANYTIME!

    Interesting Clip.

I do admire these ladies for the work they have put into doing what they do. Because that requires extreme dedication. I honestly don’t know what drives them. (although I have heard that at a certain point, lifting weights, the kind of rush it gives you, is better than sex) So.. eh who knows.
